As.Tro seeks Sondrio prefecture meeting on gambling venue security decree

Regulation · SectorWire deskSource published 1 min read

Italian trade association As.Tro has sent the Sondrio prefecture a formal request for a meeting to open talks on a provincial protocol under the 21 January 2025 security decree, known as the Piantedosi decree. The association said the request follows the model of institutional cooperation it has promoted in other territories.

As.Tro said it has already signed protocols with the prefectures of Ancona, Milan, Lodi and Pavia. The measures in the decree are aimed at preventing illegal acts and situations of danger to public order and safety inside and in the immediate vicinity of public premises, according to the report.

The association said the aim is to promote structured forms of cooperation between the prefecture, police forces and gambling operators in the province of Sondrio, and to support measures to raise security standards at gambling venues and recognise operators' conduct. As.Tro said it considers the process an opportunity to raise security and qualification standards at gambling venues and to strengthen collaboration with institutions.

As.Tro said it will continue to promote similar initiatives with Italian prefectures, including on the basis of needs raised by its members. Members operating in the province of Sondrio who are interested in joining the initiative can express their interest by writing to the As.Tro secretariat, the association said.
