AGSI vice-president challenges Italy’s proposed €100 weekly cash top-up limit

Regulation

AGSI vice-president Antonio Guitto said Italy’s €100 weekly cash top-up limit for PVR outlets would be unsustainable for the legal market and argued that it should be changed. He said the measure stems from anti-money-laundering concerns identified in 2024 inspections; the report states that the PVR rules and register are suspended pending a Council of State ruling, while the limit is due to apply from 13 May 2026.

The limit could affect how Italian betting customers fund online accounts through PVR outlets.
