AGCO clarifies inducement rules for Ontario cannabis retailers

Regulation

Source: AGCO (Ontario)

Ontario’s AGCO explains rules governing benefits and services between licensed cannabis retailers and licensed producers. Retailers generally cannot accept material inducements intended to promote a product, while exceptions include benefits of nominal value and qualifying education or training; selling personal customer information remains prohibited without express consent.

Retailers and producers must assess benefits and data-sharing arrangements against the stated inducement restrictions and exceptions.
