ADM official urges updated rules for Italy’s gambling sector

ADM director Antonio Giuliani urged Italy to update gambling rules, saying regulations for physical gaming machines date to 2013 and betting concessions remain extended under tenders published in 2009 and 2010. He said online gambling has stronger security and player-protection tools, and argued that reform is needed to allow newer technology in land-based gambling.

The call puts the renewal of rules for land-based gambling and extended betting concessions on the policy agenda.
