Brightstar has replaced almost 300,000 devices across the 35,000 points of sale it serves, Alessandro Paciucci, senior vice president of Italy Lottery Operation, told Agimeg. The renovation of the Lotto draw hall in Milan completes a wider innovation programme that Brightstar brought to the Lotto tender, Paciucci said in an interview with Agimeg director Fabio Felici.
Paciucci said the technology project covers new draw machines, the infrastructure behind them and the disaster recovery system. He said the devices serve almost 9 million players a year as well as the company's retailers, and that the Milan draw hall was also the subject of a transfer of the draw site ordered by ADM.
On the product side, Paciucci said Brightstar recently launched a new game and will continue developing its offer by listening to players and designing games oriented towards entertainment and responsible gambling. He said innovation was the guiding thread of the company's tender project.
Paciucci said one of the company's main objectives, including under the new tender, was to combine tradition and innovation, and that the Milan hall shows this balance: the technology has changed, while the ritual of some operations and elements such as transparency and visibility remain.
