ACMA orders Dabble to pay AU$1,069,200 over BetStop breaches

Enforcement & compliance

Australia’s ACMA ordered Dabble to pay AU$1,069,200 after finding that 157 accounts belonging to BetStop registrants remained active. The regulator also found that 165 self-excluded customers received 839 electronic messages, while 45 received more than 2,000 push notifications without required BetStop information. ACMA accepted a two-year court-enforceable undertaking requiring an independent systems review and improvements recommended by auditors.

The findings and undertaking require Dabble to address failures involving self-excluded customers and gambling promotions.
