Abert asks Brazil’s Supreme Court to suspend betting ban measure
Brazil’s Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters, Abert, asked the Supreme Federal Court to suspend Provisional Measure 1.394/2026 until Congress reviews it or the court rules on the cases, reportedly. Abert also sought admission as an amicus curiae and argued that the measure affects broadcasters’ advertising and sponsorship contracts as well as betting companies.
The request challenges restrictions that Abert says affect broadcasters’ existing and future commercial agreements with betting companies.
