Wisconsin poll finds 64% oppose online sports betting legalisation

Regulation

A Marquette University poll of 818 registered voters found 64% opposed legalising online sports betting in Wisconsin, while 34% supported it. Lawmakers were expected to discuss a tribal bill on 3 March that would allow the state’s 11 tribes to expand into online gambling; the Sports Betting Alliance opposed the bill’s exclusivity provisions.

The poll and competing positions provide context for lawmakers’ consideration of the tribal online gambling bill.
