Vici Properties agreed to buy Great Northern Casino, Deerfoot Inn & Casino and two hotels in Alberta for $114.4 million, reportedly. Truist Securities analyst Barry Jonas said in a 30 March investor note that the deal is expected to close in midsummer and add $11.6 million in annual revenue before escalators.
The Alberta acquisition would expand Vici’s property portfolio and add annual revenue under a long-term lease arrangement.

VICI Properties said it completed the acquisition of the real estate assets of Deerfoot Inn & Casino, Great Northern Casino and two nearby hotels in Alberta, Canada. The transaction was valued at $144.4 million (CAD$200.6 million) and adds the portfolio to VICI’s lease agreement with PURE, increasing annual rent by $11.6 million (CAD$16.1 million).
The Court of King's Bench of Alberta issued a final order approving Indigenous Gaming Partners' acquisition of Gamehost, after shareholders backed the deal on 11 June. The cash offer values each share at CAD13.65, and the transaction was expected to close before the end of June, according to the report.
New Orleans agreed to receive $103 million upfront from private equity firm TPG in exchange for the first nine years of rent on the Caesars New Orleans property. The remaining 23 years of the lease are unaffected, and the arrangement requires approval from the New Orleans City Council.
Gaming and Leisure Properties said a potential acquisition of Caesars Entertainment would likely have a neutral effect on its interests, according to comments by GLPI president Brandon Moore. GLPI’s rent coverage at Caesars-operated regional properties fell to 1.69x in the first quarter from 1.77x a year earlier; the effect on its leases remains undetermined.
The Nevada Gaming Commission approved Golden Entertainment’s move to become privately held. Golden is selling its operating assets to company chief executive Blake Sartini and affiliates, and seven casino real estate assets to VICI Properties under a sale-leaseback; 99% of shareholders approved the deal, which is due to close in the second quarter.
