VGCCC fines nine Victoria venues for gambling outside permitted hours

Enforcement & compliance

Victoria’s Gambling and Casino Control Commission fined nine clubs and hotels and censured three others for gambling breaches on Good Friday and ANZAC Day earlier this year. The largest fine was A$15,000, issued to Clayton RSL after gaming continued on multiple machines beyond 11.30pm on Good Friday.

The enforcement action clarifies that venues must observe gambling hours tied to their individual liquor licences.
