Regulation

The UK government’s leaked budget proposes higher gambling duties, with remote gaming duty rising from 21% to 40% from April 2026 and remote general betting duty reaching 25% from April 2027. The document estimates the changes will raise £1.1bn by 2029-30; horseracing duty remains at 15%, while bingo duty is abolished.

Operators face higher duties on remote casino gaming and betting, while the proposal leaves horseracing duty unchanged.
