UK government announces £30m gambling-harm grant fund

Regulation

The UK government announced a £30m fund for voluntary and community groups working on gambling harm, with the Department of Health and Social Care leading the initiative. The two-year programme’s expression-of-interest period runs until 9 January, applications open on 12 January, and grants range from £5,000 to £2m. From April 2026, recipients must not accept contributions from gambling operators.

The funding conditions affect how gambling-harm organisations can receive support from operators while accessing the grant programme.
