Unimpresa proposes fund for gambling-harm services using online gaming tax revenue
Unimpresa called for a national fund to address gambling-related harm, financed by a share of tax revenue from online gaming. The association said the 2025 public gaming market generated €165bn in turnover, including €81bn from online skill games, while the state received €11.5bn in tax revenue; it proposed allocating 2% of digital gaming tax receipts to services and prevention.
The proposal could redirect part of online gaming tax revenue to treatment and prevention services.
