Uganda proposes centralised payment gateway for gambling operators

Regulation

Uganda’s Tax Procedures Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025 proposes requiring gambling operators to route wagers and payouts through a centralised payment gateway, reportedly licensed by the Bank of Uganda. Operators may need to route wagers and payouts through one gateway if the bill becomes law.
