- Uganda proposes centralised payment gateway for gambling operators
Uganda’s Tax Procedures Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025 proposes requiring gambling operators to route wagers and payouts through a centralised payment gateway, reportedly licensed by the Bank of Uganda. The proposal still requires parliamentary approval and the President’s signature; non-compliance would carry a penalty of twice the tax due or 5,500 currency points, stated as UGX 110 million (€26,268).
