Uganda’s National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board chief executive Denis Mudene Ngabirano said annual gaming revenue reached about UGX323bn in FY2024/25, up from approximately UGX50.6bn in FY2019/20. He attributed the increase to tighter licensing and digital oversight, and said the regulator had seized more than 6,000 illegal gaming machines with police.

The reported growth and enforcement figures inform operators’ understanding of Uganda’s regulatory and compliance environment.
