Tribal leaders urge federal action on sports prediction markets
Indian Gaming Association chairman David Bean urged tribal leaders to coordinate their response to sports prediction markets at a National Congress of American Indians Executive Council meeting in Washington. The report says the IGA and 16 tribes have filed briefs supporting state regulators, while tribal groups are seeking amendments to the Commodity Exchange Act.
The proposed federal changes could affect how sports-related prediction contracts are treated under gambling law and tribal authority.
