IGA chairman warns tribal leaders over sweepstakes and prediction markets
Indian Gaming Association chairman David Bean warned tribal leaders in Washington, D.C., that illegal sweepstakes operations and sports betting prediction markets threaten tribal gaming. Citing a National Indian Gaming Commission report, he said tribal gaming generated $43.9 billion in 2025, up $2 billion from 2024, supported nearly 700,000 jobs and contributed more than $19 billion to governments through taxes and compact payments. Bean urged coordinated advocacy to amend the Commodities Exchange Act.
The proposed federal changes could affect prediction-market sports wagering and casino gaming across tribal markets.
