Sri Lanka’s gambling authority delays regulations until October
Sri Lanka’s draft gambling regulations remain under committee review, with completion now expected by October rather than the previous 30 June target, officials said. The first phase is expected to address licensing, online gambling and anti-money laundering; police have sought legal advice on enforcement, while the Inspector General said action has been taken under the Cybercrimes Act where possible.
Operators face continuing uncertainty over licensing and enforcement while the regulations remain unfinished.
