A survey commissioned by Spelinspektionen found that 72% of Swedish adults had gambled at least once in 2025. The study, conducted by Lysio Research with more than 1,500 respondents, found lotteries remained the most popular form, while sports betting drew 30% of respondents.
Operators and regulators can use the survey to understand Swedish gambling participation and interest in sports betting.

A Morning Consult survey commissioned by Gambling Is Not Investing found that 81% of 15,029 US adults surveyed from 17 to 22 March viewed trading on sports outcomes through prediction markets as betting. The report said a similar share supported state gaming rules for those products, while 77% were concerned about access for users aged 18 and potential gambling-related harm.
The Gambling Commission commissioned a qualitative study into gambling’s effects on people close to gamblers. It found that 63% of affected others had also gambled in the past year, while partners reported the broadest and most persistent harms. The Commission said a companion report with recommendations is due in the coming months.
Chile’s Comptroller General identified 910 public and municipal employees who made casino transactions exceeding CLP11.49bn between January 2024 and June 2025, despite a legal prohibition on their betting. The finding followed a comparison of public fund custodians’ records with casino customer information supplied by the Superintendence of Casinos; the report says the employees came from 371 state entities.
A report by the Region of Murcia’s Epidemiology Service found that 19.9% of students aged 14 to 18 had gambled for money online or in person in 2023, down from 21% in 2021. The report said 58.2% had received school education about problems associated with online gambling or betting; the 2023 figure was below the national rate of 21.5%.
It was reported that an Arizona Department of Gaming survey found 84% of adults had gambled during the preceding year. The survey also found weekly gambling among 30% of adults.
