Summary
An ARPEJ survey supported by France's ANJ found that 42.6% of 5,000 respondents aged 15 to 17 reported gambling in the previous 12 months, up 7.8 points on 2021. Scratchcards drove much of the rise, with parents mostly buying them at retail outlets, the survey found. Reported by ANJ (France).
Why it matters
Rising minor participation, parental-facilitated access and advertising exposure give French regulators grounds to tighten retail controls and advertising rules.
