Spain’s Consumo announces €33.5m in gambling sanctions, including illegal operators

Enforcement & compliance

Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 announced sanctions totalling €33.5m against gambling operators. The report says €30m relates to six unlicensed foreign operators, while 26 cases against licensed operators amount to just over €3m; Codere received a €17,500 sanction. The ministry said its year-to-date total was 58 sanctions and nearly €111m in fines.

The figures distinguish sanctions against unlicensed operators from enforcement affecting Spain’s regulated operators.
