Codere asks DGOJ to distinguish its €17,500 penalty from illegal operators’ fines

Enforcement & compliance

Codere called on Spain’s DGOJ to clarify its communication about gambling sanctions, according to a media report. The company said its penalty was €17,500 for a minor infringement and argued that its case should be distinguished from fines imposed on illegal operators. Codere also said it had reported the incidents to the DGOJ before they were detected.

Codere says the presentation of its penalty alongside illegal-market fines risks misrepresenting the scale and nature of its case.
