South Korea’s communications commission blocks 1,280 betting sites
The Korea Communications Standards Commission is blocking access to 1,280 unlicensed sports betting sites in South Korea ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the commission said. It also said it had handled 5,279 cases involving correction orders between January and 8 June, and will continue monitoring sites with other agencies during the tournament.
The action restricts access to unlicensed betting sites during a period when the commission expects betting activity to increase.
