Slovakia's Úrad pre reguláciu hazardných hier (ÚRHH) signed its fifth cooperation memorandum, with the Faculty of Education at Comenius University in Bratislava, the authority said in a notice dated 20 October 2026. The agreement adds the faculty to the regulator's national network of academic partners.
The memorandum covers systematic education on gambling regulation, addiction prevention, responsible play and new forms of digital gambling. It also provides for expert consultations on final theses, participation in scientific conferences, specialist lectures and joint production of methodological materials for schools.
Libuša Baranová, general director of ÚRHH, said the fifth memorandum confirms the importance of building a nationwide network of cooperating universities. She said the aim is to give teachers verified information and practical knowledge to support the digital resilience of children and young people.
Katarína Žilková, dean of the Faculty of Education at Comenius University in Bratislava, said the school has a role in preventing risky behaviour among children and young people, and that the boundary between digital entertainment and gambling is increasingly blurred. She said the cooperation could involve all three study fields at the faculty: teaching and educational sciences, social work, and speech therapy and therapeutic education.
The notice describes the faculty as the oldest teacher-training faculty in Slovakia. It says the cooperation between the regulator and Slovak universities sets a standard in prevention, awareness and education related to gambling. The notice was updated on 20 October 2026.
