SBC signs multi-year partnership with Dutch operator body VNLOK for Summit Europe

Deals & M&A · SectorWire deskSource published 2 min read

SBC and Vergunde Nederlandse Online Kansspelaanbieders (VNLOK), the trade association representing licensed Dutch online gambling operators, have signed a multi-year strategic partnership ahead of SBC Summit Europe, which is scheduled to debut at the RAI Amsterdam from 19 to 21 April 2027.

Under the partnership, VNLOK will bring senior executives from licensed Dutch operators to SBC Summit Europe, giving the Netherlands market representation in European discussions on taxation, player protection, advertising restrictions, channelling of demand to the legal market and illegal gambling. VNLOK will also contribute to SBC Media's editorial coverage of the Dutch market, sharing experiences and views on regulation, taxation, licensing and commercial sustainability.

Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, said the ambition is to make Amsterdam the annual meeting point for the European regulated gambling industry, bringing together licensed operators, regulators, policymakers and associations. He said the Netherlands is an important regulated market and that the partnership aims to ensure strong representation of Dutch operators so their views contribute to the wider European debate on regulation, player protection and market sustainability.

Björn Fuchs, president of VNLOK, said the Dutch licensed gambling market has much experience to share but also much to learn from other regulated markets. He said SBC Summit Europe in Amsterdam gives VNLOK members the opportunity to do both with operators, regulators and policymakers from across Europe in their home market, and that many issues they face, from player protection to tackling illegal supply, are the same ones other markets are addressing.

SBC said the partnership forms part of its wider collaborations with industry organisations, legal bodies and regulators, including the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) and the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). SBC Summit Europe is scheduled to bring together more than 8,000 participants, including more than 3,000 representatives of licensed operators, 250 exhibitors and sponsors and 250 speakers. The event is due to open on 19 April with the SBC Leaders Regulatory Forum, an invitation-only forum on regulation, followed by two exhibition days, four conference stages including a conference on European regulation, and three specialist training forums on lottery innovation, player protection and sports integrity.
