SLICKS proposes national gambling-harm council for Dutch policy

Regulation

SLICKS has proposed a National Gambling Harm Council to represent people affected by gambling harm in the Netherlands. The organisation wants the body established as an independent advisory and participation body, with legal provisions requiring the Kansspelautoriteit and ministry to consult it on policy. SLICKS also seeks long-term independent funding and says its paper may be discussed at a parliamentary committee debate on 3 September.

The proposal would add a formal consultation role for people affected by gambling harm in policy-making.
