Singapore steps up illegal gambling enforcement during 2026 World Cup

Enforcement & compliance

Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs said police would intensify action against illegal gambling from 11 June to 19 July during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The measures include blocking illegal sites and related advertising, terminating promotional phone numbers, and blocking linked bank accounts and card payments. The ministry also announced public campaigns on illegal betting and problem gambling with the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Operators face heightened enforcement and payment-blocking measures against unauthorised gambling during the tournament.
