Thailand blocks 13,888 gambling links during World Cup enforcement
Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society blocked 13,888 gambling-related links, websites and social media pages between 1 and 18 June as enforcement intensified during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Deputy Minister Nan Boonthida Somchai said removals followed court orders and cooperation with digital platforms, with artificial intelligence used to identify gambling content.
