Peru’s Civic Works Party parliamentary group has proposed raising the selective consumption tax on online bets. The bill would increase the rate from 1% to 5%, in addition to the existing 12% tax on gross gaming revenue. Industry figures warned the change could prompt licensed operators to reconsider their presence in Peru.
A Peruvian parliamentary group proposed increasing the selective consumption tax on online bets from 1% to 5% per wager, while excluding land-based gambling. The proposed levy would be separate from the existing 12% tax on remote gambling and sports betting gross gaming revenue and would apply to domestic and foreign operators. The bill estimates annual receipts could rise from about S/324 million to S/1.62 billion, describing the projection as illustrative.
Rush Street Interactive (RSI) announced on Wednesday that BetRivers had signed an exclusive partnership with Gateway Casinos & Entertainment in Alberta. The companies plan to link BetRivers’ online gambling offering with Gateway’s Edmonton properties through joint promotions and events starting this summer.
It was reported that Rush Street Interactive finance chief Kyle Sauers attributed $35m in annualised additional revenue to the removal of Colombian emergency taxes in Q1. He discussed taxation stability at an Oppenheimer event.
DraftKings shares closed up 8.39% at $24.03 after its second-quarter report. The Motley Fool reported that sales fell 5% and results missed analyst expectations, while annualised volumes on DraftKings Predictions quintupled from April to July. DraftKings maintained its 2026 guidance.
