Macquarie projects $187bn in prediction market trading volume for 2026

Reportedly, Macquarie projects prediction market trading volume of $187bn in 2026, against $22bn in 2025. Sports contracts accounted for 79% of September volume on the leading platform, while DraftKings and FanDuel held about 4% and 3% of US sports contract volume, respectively.

Macquarie has forecast that prediction market trading volume will reach $187bn in 2026, against $22bn in 2025, according to an analysis by Chad Beynon of the Australian banking and financial group. The estimate is a slight reduction from the $190bn Macquarie indicated a few days earlier, but remains above its previous forecast of $169bn. If confirmed, it would represent growth of about 8.5 times the volume of the previous year.
