Rome's police chief suspended a private club in the Prati district for 15 days under article 100 of the consolidated public security law, according to a PressGiochi report. The order was notified to the club's managers by officers of the Borgo police station, which handled the administrative file, and the closure was enforced.
Inspections by the State Police and local police found a gaming area that was operating without the required authorisations and concessions, the report said. Officers also found continuous paid food and drink service without the required health and commercial permits, and administrative sanctions were issued for the violations.
Officers identified 24 customers, including four minors. Four adult customers were found in possession of more than 10 grams of hashish; the report said they were referred to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics and reported to the judicial authority. Checks of police databases found that nine of those identified had criminal records for drug dealing and offences against persons and property.
The club had already received a similar suspension in March, the report said, and the new checks found further irregularities, confirming the issues identified earlier. The police chief said intervention was needed to prevent danger to public order and safety. The operation formed part of territory checks aimed at countering irregular activities and preventing situations that could compromise public safety.
