Riigikogu approves gambling tax cut from 6% to 4%
Estonia’s Riigikogu approved a reduction in gambling tax from 6% to 4% on 3 December, with 51 votes in favour and 31 against. The measure now advances the government’s plan to attract international iGaming operators, while the Finance Ministry warned that receipts could fall by as much as €13m by 2029 and raised concerns about oversight.
Operators considering Estonia face a lower proposed tax rate, alongside continuing concerns about oversight and lost state revenue.
