Estonian lawmakers propose restoring 5.5% remote gambling tax

Regulation

Estonian lawmakers are preparing an amendment to restore the 5.5% tax on remote gambling from 1 March 2026, according to a media report. The proposal would correct wording that left online gambling outside the tax rules; lawmakers expected to adopt it by the end of February. The tax is expected to raise about €27 million in 2026.

Operators may again face a statutory 5.5% levy on remote gambling if lawmakers adopt the amendment.
