Kristen Michal orders review of Estonia’s online casino tax cut

By SectorWire desk ·

Summary

Prime Minister Kristen Michal has called for Estonia to reassess its online casino tax cut on 28 August. The legislation lowers the rate from 6% to 4% across two years. In June, the Finance Ministry said no additional operators had entered the market, with two applications for licences still awaiting decisions.

Why it matters

The review puts further tax reductions for licensed online casino operators in question as gambling tax receipts fall.
