Québec online gaming coalition urges government to open iGaming market

Regulation

The Québec Online Gaming Coalition (QOGC) urged the provincial government to replace Loto-Québec’s online monopoly with a licensed commercial market, the group said in a brief to the Ministry of Finance. QOGC claimed Québec misses more than C$300 million in tax revenue annually and argued that licensing private operators could bring online play under provincial oversight.

A change to Québec’s market model could affect operator access, oversight and provincial tax receipts.
