Quebec Online Gaming Commission urges Quebec to adopt competitive igaming regulation
The Quebec Online Gaming Commission said it submitted a brief to Quebec’s Ministry of Finance advocating an independent igaming regulator and a competitive market modelled on Ontario’s. Loto-Québec argued that the coalition’s member companies offer products illegally and violate the existing framework; the commission said the province should regulate online gaming, including private platforms.
The competing positions could shape Quebec’s proposed approach to regulating private online gambling platforms.
