Hedge funds report $2bn gains on short positions against Flutter

Deals & M&A

Hedge funds holding short positions against Flutter had estimated gains of about $2bn since the start of 2026, according to figures attributed to S3 Partners in a report. The report also put gains on short positions against DraftKings at about $351m and Entain at $35m, amid prediction-market growth in the US and higher UK gambling taxes.

The reported short-sale gains and share-price declines indicate investor pressure on major listed gambling groups.
