Portugal extends casino concessions as tender remains unfinished

Tenders & awards

Portugal’s government will extend existing casino concessions for a limited period because the tender for new licences has not concluded on schedule, according to a media report. The extensions cover casinos operated by Solverde Group and Estoril Sol; the ministry said the jury will assess bids and prepare a preliminary report for competitors to comment on before a proposed award is finalised.

The extensions allow the named casino operators to continue while the public tender for replacement concessions proceeds.
