North Macedonia government proposes gambling advertising and venue restrictions
North Macedonia’s government approved a bill proposing broad restrictions on gambling advertising and requiring casinos, betting shops and gaming halls to be at least 500 metres from primary and secondary schools, according to the report. The proposal would also prohibit promotions targeting minors and the use of influencers; it now goes to parliament for review. Authorities also announced the closure of 358 foreign illegal online platforms.
Operators would face proposed advertising limits and minimum distances from schools if parliament approves the bill.
