New Zealand High Court hears coordinated online gambling claims against operators

Regulation

Three proceedings involving Bet365, Super Group and SkyCity are before the High Court in Auckland over online gambling activity connected with New Zealand. A judge said the cases share a plaintiff and similar issues but it was too early to manage them together; Bet365 disputes the court’s jurisdiction, while SkyCity denies liability in a separate funded class-action claim covering losses from February 2020 to February 2026.

The proceedings may test operators’ legal exposure for online gambling offered to New Zealand customers.
