Nevada Gaming Control Board warns licensees over sports event contracts
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reaffirmed that sports and certain other event contracts count as wagering under state law, warning licensees that offering them or partnering with providers could affect their licence suitability. The notice followed a federal judge’s decision to dissolve Kalshi’s preliminary injunction and deny Robinhood temporary protection. The Board said Robinhood had agreed in principle to stop offering new sports contracts in Nevada while proceedings continue; Kalshi sought a stay pending appeal.
Nevada licensees risk scrutiny of their suitability if they offer or partner on event contracts without meeting state requirements.
