Nevada court bars Polymarket event contracts for at least two weeks

Enforcement & compliance

A Nevada judge issued a temporary restraining order on 29 January barring Polymarket from offering event contracts in the state for at least two weeks, according to the ruling described in the report. The court found at this stage that the contracts constituted wagers under Nevada law and that Polymarket lacked a state sports betting licence; a hearing was scheduled for two weeks later.

The order temporarily prevents Polymarket from offering event contracts in Nevada while the court considers the case.
