Nebraska petition sponsors revise online sports betting measures

Regulation

Two petitions seeking online sports betting in Nebraska remain uncleared for signature gathering after sponsors submitted revised wording, the Secretary of State’s office said. The filings propose a 20% tax, with 70% of revenue directed to property tax relief, and a limit of two online platforms per operator. If approved by voters, the draft would require the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission to adopt rules by 1 June 2027.

The proposals could set platform limits, tax treatment and rulemaking requirements for any Nebraska online sports betting market.
