Wisconsin governor signs law authorising online sports betting
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers signed Assembly Bill 601, authorising online sports betting through agreements with the state’s 11 federally recognised tribes. The law requires betting systems and servers to be located on tribal land, and the market cannot launch until new agreements are negotiated. The Sports Betting Alliance opposed the measure, while some groups have signalled plans to challenge it.
Operators will need tribal agreements to participate, while the law’s structure and potential legal challenge shape market access.
