Nathalia Fernandez proposes New York billboard gambling ad ban

Regulation

New York state senator Nathalia Fernandez introduced a bill proposing a ban on billboard advertisements for gambling and sports wagering services. The proposal covers fantasy sports, lotteries, certain sweepstakes and interactive gaming, and must pass the Senate Consumer Protection Committee before reaching the chamber floor. A separate bill introduced the same day would require gambling billboard adverts to be replaced by public-service announcements when their advertising contracts end.

The proposals could restrict gambling advertising on billboards and change requirements for existing advertising contracts in New York.
