In brief
- Murcia opened a consultation on 20 October on rules for registered gaming types and specialities.
- The participation period ends on 10 November 2026.
- The review does not yet approve any regulatory changes.
The Región de Murcia has started a new review of its gaming rules, and the participation period ends on Tuesday 10 November 2026. The review concerns the regulatory framework for the gaming types and specialities entered in the regional General Gaming Register.
The consultation opened on 20 October and is listed on the Murcia Transparency Portal. The administration says it intends to adapt the rules to changes the sector has undergone in recent years. The regional government names three main objectives: updating the current provisions, making them easier to apply, and giving businesses and the administration greater legal certainty. The initiative also aims to improve the clarity of the rules and achieve more effective management of gaming-related activities.
The consultation coincides with another regulatory file of the autonomous community, whose latest published version is dated 22 July 2026. That project provides for changes to the Regulation on Recreational and Gambling Machines, the Betting Regulation and the decree on bans on access to gaming venues and rooms. Its purpose is to strengthen protection for minors and for people entered in the register of prohibitions, as well as to update certain aspects of the organisation of gaming activities. The report says the new consultation on gaming types and specialities is a separate procedure.
Interested parties can submit proposals through a questionnaire on the Participa platform. After the consultation closes, the administration must analyse the contributions received and incorporate them into the relevant rule-making process. The review does not yet amount to approval of any regulatory changes.
