Merkur Group opens Siegburg casino on 10 December 2026

Merkur Group says its Merkur Spielbank Siegburg will open on 10 December 2026 with a three-day opening celebration. The venue is the sixth state-concessioned casino in North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the company.

The company said it is investing more than €35m in the casino. The gaming floor covers around 1,600 square metres and will offer classic roulette and card tables as well as around 250 gaming machines of the latest generation. Merkur Group said the site will create around 100 jobs across different professions.

According to the company, the period between the start of construction at the end of March 2025 and the opening celebration in December 2026 comes to roughly 20 months. Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl will travel from the United States as VIP guests, the company said, and the two are appearing together at a public event in Germany for the first time.

David Schnabel, the Merkur Group board member responsible for the casinos division, said: "Live-Entertainment gehört zur DNA der Merkur Spielbanken. Wir wollen unseren Gästen in Siegburg vom ersten Tag an mehr bieten als ein erstklassiges Spielangebot: außergewöhnliche Showmomente und Unterhaltung, die in Erinnerung bleibt." The company said Duffy's attendance makes the occasion more unusual.
