Merkley and Klobuchar introduce bill to restrict officials' prediction-market trading
US senators Jeff Merkley and Amy Klobuchar introduced the End Prediction Market Corruption Act on 5 March. The proposed bill would bar the president, vice president and members of Congress from trading event contracts, restrict some senior executive officials, and require financial disclosures; it also directs the CFTC to issue related rules.
If enacted, the proposal would impose trading restrictions and disclosure duties on covered officials and their families.
