Lodi police sanctioned the owners of a bar and a VLT venue in Mulazzano and Sordio for breaches of regional rules addressing gambling harm, the police said. The checks took place on Wednesday evening as part of a joint operation with the Lombardy Crime Prevention Unit.
The sanctions show that regional gambling-harm requirements are being enforced at local venues.

Italian gaming trade association AS.TRO signed security cooperation protocols with the prefectures of Lodi and Pavia, according to the association’s announcement. The agreements aim to apply national guidance on preventing illegal acts and public safety risks in and around public venues; AS.TRO also said it had opened discussions with prefectures in several other provinces.
The Lazio Regional Administrative Court rejected a challenge seeking to have ADM revoke authorisations held by the outgoing VLT network concessionaire. The court said the dispute concerned private contractual relations and that gambling continued uninterrupted at both bingo halls, so there were no grounds to revoke or annul the authorisations; it also rejected the damages claim.
The TAR for Lombardy, Brescia branch, has suspended the revocation of a VLT installation licence at a Trescore Balneario gaming venue. In a decree of 17 October 2026, the section president halted the contested measures, allowing gaming and food and beverage service to resume. The Bergamo police headquarters had revoked the licence under article 88 of the TULPS after inspections on 19 June and 14 July 2026.
The TAR for Lombardy, Brescia branch, second section, has suspended the revocation of a licence to install VLT machines at a gaming venue in Trescore Balneario, in the province of Bergamo. In a decree of 17 October 2026, the president of the second section ordered the suspension of the contested measures, allowing both gaming and the food and beverage service connected to the venue to resume.
Tuscany’s administrative court granted the operators’ interim appeal and suspended the Arezzo police chief’s 15-day closure order for a betting and VLT venue. The court said the cited grounds appeared uncertain at this preliminary stage and scheduled a hearing on the merits for 16 December 2026.
Veneto regional councillor Davide Lovat said he had submitted a bill to amend the region’s 2019 law on preventing and treating gambling disorder. He said the proposal would revise venue-location and opening-hour rules, strengthen prevention and monitoring, and introduce tax incentives and disincentives.
